Courtney Bowles: Testimonials

I have had the pleasure of working with Courtney in different situations for a few years now since she made herself known to us at St. Francis Church and School in Concord. Her voice is so clear, strong and vibrant that not only were we happy that she agreed to cantor at our parish, but I also hired her as a soloist with a community chorus I work with (the Contra Costa Chorale-www.ccchorale.org) in collaboration with Contra Costa College in San Pablo. Her manner and poise is very professional. She maintains flexibility in each situation which makes her easy to work with. Courtney also goes above and beyond the particulars for which is employed, promoting the performances of the group through contacts and publicity outlets available to her, such as in the case of the Chorale. In many ways she is always ready to assist the organization and people with whom she is working. She has spent time with the students of our parish children’s choir teaching vocal technique and musicality. Everyone with whom she comes into contact compliments both her singing style and gracious personality, including the other professional musicians with whom she is contracted to work. Not only can I highly recommend her, but I also look forward to continuing to employ her skills and abilities as our Chorale and parish need.

Courtney has a superb, versatile voice and presence that is equally suited to opera, classic American Jazz, contemporary arrangements and classical pieces.  Across all musical genres, her talent and passion for her art are an unmistakable treasure.

I first heard Courtney perform before an audience of nearly 1,000 and was immediately impressed by the ease and beauty with which she moved – both vocally and physically – between and within each arrangement.

When she sang at a private party I hosted, her performance transfixed my guests, demonstrating Courtney’s adaptability in both venue and song selection.  She is truly a remarkable, gifted performer whose spectacular vocal range is matched by her ability to draw her audience into her passion, not just sing to them.

I was visiting my sister in El Dorado when I attended the Catholic church on the hill. That morning was a highlight of my visit when you sang You Raise Me Up at the closing of the service.  It was thrilling to hear you and we spoke afterwards briefly and  you told me about your schooling. I had tears in my eyes when I heard you sing.  It was so beautiful and I'm glad I found your website.  My best to you.  Sincerely, Millie Walker

Dear Courtney,  I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your concert on the 20th of November. Your voice and presentation was so beautiful----what a voice.  The selections you chose were so wonderful.  Have a truly blessed Christmas.
