What happens when former Middle School teachers open a Talent and Event Management company? Well, we aren't quite sure why it took us so long but Hip Entertainment is delighted to launch performing arts classes. 
We've got a big, beautiful mission and we think its time has come.
Ready? Here we go:
- Deliver excellent Performing Arts Classes to young people.
- Create teaching opportunities for outstanding artists who love to teach.
- Deliver critical skills and character education in a sweet Performing Arts package.
- Maintain a 5 to 1 scholarship ratio. A scholarship is awarded for every 5 students enrolled in HIP Academy.
- Meet California Standards for Visual and Performing Arts.
In our perfect world we wouldn't have starving artists or art starved students. We think we can make a dent.
Our Spring Classes are now enrolling and we've got a fabulous line up! GLEE classes for 7th and 8th Graders, A Vocal Performance and Dance Collaborative for the younger set, a Professional Young Actors class for students working in commercials or theater or who think they might and a Comedic Acting/Improv class that makes our teacher hearts sing.
One significant outcome of Improvisational Comedy for young people is (prepare yourself for full on former teacher geekiness) it teaches kids to push through anxiety while engaging their brains at a high level. This is a critical transferable skill as they are increasingly required to perform on tests and in front of their class. As you can imagine - Improv also busts insecurity and shyness, channels class clownism into an acceptable forum and is an outstanding spring board to exploring comedy as a writing and theater genre. It's also a hilarious good time.

Finally, as parents and teachers the whole Hip Entertainment team has a big investment in building a solid road so kids can have healthy, happy futures. The H.I.P in HIP Academy is the character piece we teach in every class session.
Heart- Bring it every session, this is about doing what you love and intrinsic satisfaction. Integrity-Conduct yourself in a way that you will be proud of your behavior. Everyday. Perseverance- Show up. Don't give up.
