Happily announcing Artist Friday! A couple of times a month we are dedicating our blog to our talented, hardworking and excellent artists. First up is Amy Anne - a multifaceted, beautiful and versatile performer. We're honored to have her in the Hip Entertainment family.

Amy Anne is an enduring artistic fireball performing throughout the greater Sacramento area for over a decade. An inspiration to the modern working musician - Amy Anne is using all her talents to maintain her dynamic presence in the vibrant, but fickle, music scene. Original artist, songwriter and performer, charismatic member of Love Train, non profit founder, devoted Mom and holder of a newly minted Masters of Psychology - Amy Anne has weathered storms personal and artistic, triumphantly and with great grace.
Born to perform, Amy Anne was singing as soon as she could. By High School she was performing for audiences in an all girl band and soon after joining the much beloved, SAMMIE Hall of Famers Xenophilia.

Super appealing - Xenophilia wooed audiences with its hip folk music that is refreshing both in musical style and its singular sense of humor. The band's first CD Cafe of Love included guest appearances from notable Sacramento rooted musicians John McCrea and Gabe Nelson from CAKE among others. Cafe of Love won critical and popular acclaim and also charmed musical contemporaries including Jason Mraz who said it was "classic undercover americana at it's best." Seriously high praise from typically the most critical camp.

Achieving great success musically and personally, Amy Anne took a hiatus from Xenophilia to enjoy her family including brand new baby daughter Aria. Along the way and with admirable focus and determination - Amy Anne earned her Bachelors degree in Psychology from UC Davis, a discipline she says she "fell in love with" her last year of high school. Still writing and sometimes performing through Aria's early childhood- Amy Anne released her first solo CD, the aptly entitled Super Girl, in 2005. A cool, cool CD with plenty of standouts - her song Johnny Depp is a cult favorite and spurred countless, multinational tribute videos on You Tube.
Joining Love Train in 2009 and enrolling in a Masters in Psychology program at about the same time - Amy Anne continued to knit seemingly divergent paths together to make her own absolutely unique journey.
Completing her Master's program in 2011 - Amy Anne and business partner Shawn Sanford are launching a Non Profit organization that makes perfect Amy Anne sense - Be Luv Music. From their Facebook page: "Be Luv Music is a non-profit radio station providing free, streaming, multi - genre positive music and happy global news." The healing power of positive music soothing a sad, weary global psyche? Could be the world will be a better place by the time Aria hits Middle School.
